Recreation Road Bridge Replacement over Interstate 95, Weston MA

The work done under this contract consists of widening of the existing six lane highway to eight lanes, through five major cities. Included as part of the work is the full depth widening of both Interstate 93 and 95 existing roadway to allow for the additional of one travel lane and shoulder northbound and southbound adjacent to the median. The work also consists of furnishing and installing highway retaining walls, overhead sign supports and highway guide signs, full depth hot mix asphalt pavement, pavement excavation by cold planner, storm water detention basins and water quality swales, drainage modifications, removing and resetting granite edging, removing and resetting highway guardrail, topsoil and sees, application of pavement marking, installing and subsequent removal of temporary precast concrete barriers, installation of permanent highway median barriers, installing and maintaining construction safety controls. Partnering with Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Akiten Engineering team managed this $43 million federal funded project from preliminary phase to the close out phase.
